What allied health services do you offer?We have Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology services being offered at present, with an aim to increase our team to include Physiotherapy in the near future.

Where are you located?We are a mobile-based service in the Perth metro area offering supports in your child's natural environment such as home and school. Our clinicians base their day around participants in a similar location, to reduce overall travel charges. Please also see 'what locations do you service' for additional information about where we currently go.

What locations do you service?FUNctional Therapy Co offers both face to face (mobile based) services to Perth Metro and surrounds, as well as telehealth services Australia wide. We are currently servicing the below locations: SOR: · Atwell · Baldivis · Kwinana · Mandurah · Rockingham NOR: · Ballajura · Banksia Grove · Craigie · Eden Hill · Greenwood · Joondalup · Midland · Morley · Ocean Reef · Yokine CENTRAL: · Applecross · Manning · Subiaco · Victoria Park · Wembley · Willagee OUTREACH SERVICES (drive in drive out, fortnightly): · Gidgegannup · Mahogany Creek

What is your current waitlist?At the moment, we have a waitlist for Occupational Therapy (Approx.2-3 months) and we have immediate capacity for Speech Pathology. General timeframes for processing referrals and getting in contact are 1-2 weeks. This enables us to process the referral, check availability, match you to an appropriate clinician who services your area, and contact you to schedule this in based on the clinicians availability.

How much are your fees?Our schedule of fee's are as follows: NDIS RATES: $193.99 per hour for Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology services. PRIVATE RATES: $175.00 per hour PRIVATE RATES (MEDICARE): as above, however, rebate of $56 per session. CLINICAL SUPERVISION RATES FOR OT:​ $175.00 per hour.

Do you offer Functional Capacity Assessments?Yes! We offer Functional Capacity Assessments completed our Occupational Therapists. These usually entail a comprehensive assessment and report to outline a participant’s current level of functioning and the supports they require to meet their stated goals.

What does a Functional Capacity Assessment entail?A functional capacity assessment entails a face-to-face interview and assessment component, parent/teacher interview, clinical observations, and comprehensive report. ​ Standardised assessments and informal assessments are used to collate information about your child’s level of functioning and may include the following: ​ · A motor based assessment such as a BOT2 or Movement ABC, to determine the child’s level of motor function and how this impacts on their skill development (colouring, cutting, drawing, writing, sports). · A sensory processing assessment such as a Sensory Profile 2 or Sensory Processing Measure · A behavioural assessment such as a Vineland ABS or Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS) · Teacher interview to identify primary concerns and/or barriers that are impacting on the child’s functioning. · Clinical observations of your child in their school environment to identify any barriers to engagement/learning · Clinical observations of your child completing daily activities such as brushing teeth, putting on shoes/socks, eating a meal, playing, completing homework, or preparing a snack. · Parent interview to identify primary concerns and/or barriers that are impacting on the child’s functioning

How long will a Functional Capacity Assessment take?NDIS typically funds 10 hours for a FCA under Capacity Building (CB) funding. This includes some or all of the following services: · Travel to and from the appointment (up to 1 hour in the metro area | MMM 1-3) · Face to face appointment (1-1.5 hours) · Observations at school (1 hour) · Assessment scoring · Reviewing of previous assessment data or clinical reports · FCA report and recommendations · Functional Therapy will only charge for the hours taken to complete the FCA.

What is your cancellation policy?If you need to cancel an appointment, we request 2 business days (48 hours) notice to avoid paying the full service fee. If you provide Functional Therapy Co less than 2 business days (48 hours) notice, you will be subject to 100% of the scheduled fee. This is due to the high demand of Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology services, and therefore provides us with enough time to fill the cancelled spot with other work. If you cancel <48 hours notice and we have other billable work that we can complete for the participant such as a report, letter, or resource creation etc. then we will use the cancelled time to complete these tasks.

How long are your appointments?Our appointments are usually scheduled for 1 hour (60 minutes) however, this is 50 minutes of direct face to face time. An additional 10 minutes is utilised to be able to publish our notes and documentation from the appointment on our client management system.
